What set of gauges have you used to headspace your mosin nagant? Thanks.

I just use a "nogo" gauge on mine. No idea as to the brand, but they should all be similar.

I used a PTG no-go on 2 diff rifles and the bolt closed all the way. Im thinking the gauge is bad. The reason is one is a arsenal refinish all numbers match in excellent shape.

It's probably a SAAMI spec gauge, the field gauge would be best for a loosey-goosey mosin.

They are not precision weapons by any means.

The 91/30 is tight so im not to worried about it. Im more worried about the M44. You can tell its seen war. The reciever and stock #'s match, and then the bolt and mag floor plate match. It seems like it was put together from 2 rifles at one point.
