Ok, i have seen some dodges converted over to the fors style cross over steering, from this wierd ass inverted y crap. But i want to know what the steering down sides of it are, and how it would affect my steering radius? Just looking for some options, as i dont want to break my steering again (arms still a tad tweaked).

I switched over to a Blazer style setup using HD TREs and chro-mo tube. I have absolutely no complaints.
My buddy rubs teh setup from PerfomanceUnlimited(?) that uses rod ends and big tube. The draglink is stacked on top of the tie rod.
Another buddy has a RockRod setup from RockStomper on his Ram.

I was thinking of using one ton GM TRE's, with the steering stablizer one on the pass side, drilled and set up for the arm to bolt on there. thats what you have, right? Did you loose any steering radius? And what causes these trucks to turn such a tight circle??

yes, that is what i have. You will need to drill the holes to the GM taper, but not a big issue.
This is my setup:

BTW, since we all know how you guys like to nit-pick posted pics, my buddy and I both realize that he should be using a double shear setup and that the track bar and draglink are not parallel. He is thinking of a way to fix that.

do you know, is there enough taper to the knuckles, so i could basially mount all my steering arms the oppisite of how your are mounted, so that the tie rod is on top of the knuckle, and the drag link is mounted to the bottom of the steering arm insted of the top? Or would that cause the track bar and my drag link not to be parallel?

no, i dont think you could flip them, without having to go to regular bolts.

ok.. may just be the way i go, unless i get a superlift steering arm, which from what i understand has the taper up-side down of stock, but it is still stock drop :(
so i just want to 2x check that you didnt loose your steering radius at all?
and if no, do you have any clue why these trucks have the inverted Y steering setup?

i have noticed no loss in turning radius and I have no idea why they went to this crappy setup

Hey Jason does your buddies setup rub at all on the sway bar brackets at all and how does he like the steering stabilizer up high? I am also curious if that is the DT track bar that he is running?
