: Cold Air Intake 95 Tracker/Kick

I recently thought about purchasing a K&N filter, then I looked at the price of them. I am running the California Emissions tracker 90+ HP or so 1600
So instead of buying a stock filter I got an idea. My brother recently put a Range Rover K&N Filter Cold Air intake on his 91 4.0 liter HO Cherokke. Little more noise but seems to have alot better pickup.

I decided to purchase a K&N cone and make a cold air intake. I took off the stock box and noticed my Air intake comes from my fender and has a TON of baffle (for noise reducion) in the fender. I just left the air flow from he fender and connected the cone on the end of air intake.

Now the car sounds alot louder and beefier, seems to have alot more pickup. At 3800 rpm and higher when accelerating. Before the power would bleed off A TON from 3500-4k and Id have to shift. Now it seems I can really put my foot in it to 4500 and still get power.

Can anyone explain things I may need to watch for or correct? (pros cons) Ill post a pic soon as I can if anyone is curious.

When I did a body lift I ended up slowly sawing through my AC high pressure hose .   .

Also has anyone ever made a custom Snokle? Id love to see pics. I noticed Safari has one

I have the Safari Snorkle on my 2 door Sidekick. If you play in water, you'll be glad you moved the intake out of the wheel well! For $210, the Safari is a great unit. I just bought a K & N filter that fits the stock air box - we'll see how it does with the snorkel.
