Pipe capping a Rove housing for a friend who's still going to be running the Rover 3rd in it for the time being, but if that ever explodes it's getting a Yota swap. I have the pipe-cap ground out enough for a Rover diff to fit with about 1/8" clearance around the ring gear, but do I need to take more out in order to fit a Yota 3rd in there? I'm using a fill length cap, didn't cut the 3/4" off for panhard clearance if that matters.

The toy ring gear will fit, but you may have a problem inserting the bolts in the flange after you redrill the hole pattern.

Yup. It's going to be a pain in the ass to weld in the new bolts.

Figured I'd either have to do something like that or just use a mirror and tig them, no biggie.

So those are a larger diameter? Require drilling out the dif also?

M8 button head screws.. Just use real screws that have a proper shoulder length and actual strength, I've done it with the cap in place, not fun but doable.

And for positioning of the cap... heck put it any where it will self clearance
