beerisgood 09-23-2002, 05:14 AM yeah, thats one of two things: a monster truck, or somebody got crazy witht the tire groover on a set of drag slicks and thats the oddest looking dragster I've ever seen.
High5 09-23-2002, 06:17 PM looks like the General Lee to me. yeeehaaaa

That is a tractor axle with integrated steering. Lots of monster trucks have setups like that.
Sean
MetalMender 09-23-2002, 08:28 PM Station is right on,they are the ZF tractor axles that a lot of the monster teams run including the bigfoot team.
I really looked these things over at the summer jambo at bloomsburg but I am really not sure who runs a front engine anymore. If you look at pic 3 you can see the seat and orbital valve behind the engine.
I also see the cantilever linkage on the rear shocks which team bigfoot runs, ford powered, but all the bigfoot trucks had polished bodies on the nightstalker shocks.
Might be and old bigfoot truck that somebody runs out west.

Brandon 09-23-2002, 09:13 PM I dunno, looked fairly new

yea - bigfoot
Brandon 09-23-2002, 09:15 PM I like the clear firewall, the rear radiator and pump (why does it need a rear pump?)
Ideas I will probably use ;)
Brandon 09-23-2002, 09:17 PM by the way, saw it at the route 66 rendevous thing along with a lot of nice cars, if anyone is interested

That's like saying lots of fighter jets go fast.
To a redneck like me, that's space engineering juju. Maybe monster trucks are not as :rainbow: as I used to think.
It's the cycle of life. At 12, monster trucks ruled. At 19, they were stupid. At 30, after PBB web-wheeling, they're cool again.
Kind of makes my little Toyota project look a little stupid.
MegaManAU 09-26-2002, 05:35 PM Im not too sure what to say about all this, other than the fact that there are some good engineers working on these beasts.
Anyways, I went to a track to see a "race" there were a few top trucks, ex. Monster Patrol, the rock, BearFoot and Stone cold I believe. Anyways to the point of the story.
Im not so sure your Yota is as bad as you think.
The Monster trucks raced and then there was a tuff truck challenge. We first see a newer 4 runner (daddy paid for it) and a good looking poser jeep come on the track. Everyone expected this to be a lame event. Everyone was yelling and hollering for the tuff trucks to come back out and the monster trucks to go away. Everyone got more entertainment out of the little trucks, than the bigger ones. By the end of the night The 4 runner had broken a leaf, the jeep broke 4 axles, a driveshaft and front end was torn up.
sorry for the long post.
Benny 09-26-2002, 10:38 PM I was thinking that with all those contraptions and stuff, that is it the "FROG".
Wrong again?
