I have a 350 chevy motor that is mated to an SM465 tranny that will be going into a YJ. I am using a ford HP60 with a drivers side diff. I want to do some sort of doubler set up that will give me stock low range, of approx 2:1, and then somehow get 4:1 too. I am unsure as to what transfer case to use, or if I should use 2 transfercases together, or get some other type of range box or what. I have three transfer cases sitting in the shop right now, an NP205 that bolts up to the 465(slip yoke model), another 205 out of a F350 that bolts to an auto tranny (C6?), and a 203 out of a chevy that was bolted to a TH350 tranny. Should I use some combination of these or something else entirely? Just looking for input from people who have similar setups.

Seems to me what you want to do is hook up the 203 chevy reduction box to your 465, then get the adapter to mate that to your ford 205. That way you have your 350 chev, 2:1, 4:1, and driver's side drop. I'm sure many have done it. I personally have an NP435 to a dodge 203 to an early bronco dana 20 (hp60 driver's drop too). Works very well. I think Off Road Design sells various kits to fit the 203 to whatever you want, so you should be able to do it.

Adapting the 465 to the 203 in a short space can be a problem but we can do it. Using the GM 203 and the Ford 205 is also not a problem.
Overall length is going to be a possible problem. Our full setup, 203+adapter+205, is the same length as that GM 203 you have there, and you'll generally use about 4 inches bolting the 465 to the 203.

I'm putting a doubler in my YJ.
I'm using all Ford stuff though. NP 435 trans, NP 203 gear box and NP 205.
Casey over at Wagoner Machine Shop is putting in the 3:1 gearset and doubler adapter in the 203.
I'm shortening the output shaft on my 435 and making a shorter adapter.
I'm also moving the rear HP 60 back 5 inches.
This combo, (trans and T/C's) will be shorter than the stock AX-5 and 231. and give me 1:1, 2:1, 3:1 and 6:1 reduction choices.

There is a version of the GM 203 that came behind 4 speed trans. They are kind of rare, but people that don't know about the doubler will probably let them go cheap. They will bolt right up to the 465 (DUH!)
