I am looking at a 2007 H3 and am learning as much about them as I can. Do they have any kind of a locking rear differential? How do I tell which model it is as it has the chrome grille and wheels with the 3.7 liter engine.
?

If it has a locking rear diff, it would have a button on the dash switch panel. It would be the Adventure Package, which also includes upgraded shocks, 4:1 transfer case, 4:56 gears, and 33 inch Bridgestone Duelers.

I am going from a Wrangler Rubicon that has 4.10 axle gears and a 4.0:1 low range transfer case. It appears the H3 std. axle ratio is 4.56 but I can't seem to find what the low range transfer case ratio is. I go to Moab once or twice each year and a low crawl rate is quite important. I'm sure I can have a rear locker of some type installed.

The Adventure package has a 4:1 ratio t-case. The non-Adv. models have a 2.64:1 ratio.

The rear axle is an AAM860 and there are several aftermarket lockers available, including the Eaton E-locker which is what comes in the Adv. model.

Low range ratio on the t-case is 4:1 if it has the adventure package. If not it's like 2:64:1 2-speed transfer case.

Don't worry, I've been to Moab. It does well there.

Thanks for all the answers! I made a deal on a 2007 with Adventure Package today. I already ordered new tires, Goodyear MTR Kevlars 315/75-16. Will this new tire size fit on the spare tire carrier?

I was in Moab 10 days ago with my Rubicon, can't wait to go back with the H3, I know it is a lot bigger but I have a feeling it will do just fine. Also, maybe I can stand to drive the H3 the 1,200 miles to Moab, I trailered my Rubicon.
