Could I get some ideas on using an auto trans in a samauri?

Maybe a turbo 350?

Any other choices?

There have been many threads on auto trannys in the last few months, search should find them for you.

I have searched and all I am finding are installs which included engine swaps and such. I am looking to do just a trans swap. I know this will probalby require the t-case also. But, I am searching and not finding anything to help me out.

Your not finding anything because no one here has put an auto tranny behind a 1.3. From what I gathered when I was looking into it you have to swap the motor to at least a 1.6.

From that I assume that you just take the whole Tracker/Sidekick drivetrain and put it in. That was my game plan if I go through with it all. Just wanting to make sure I had all options on the board.

That's what I was going to do. I really like how my test project turned out so I may just swap the 1.6 into my Zuk this fall and call it good for a while. If you can't tell I'd much rather be out on the trail than in the garage :)

Hawk http://www.hawksuzukiparts.com/ used to have some info about installing an auto in a Zuk....and a couple years ago when Jake Palmberg (sp) was in Vegas, he called me asking if I could find any Tracker auto tranny's....he was going to use a 1.3 with 1.6 adaptors backwards.....and start a tour business....

back on the ORC BBS..there was talk of auto's being used in some other country..I guess they came stock "over there"..where ever there is

Trail Tough's world famous Brent Bradshaw has mentioned something about this a time or too also.....I think he has done it...

Other than that....I have talked to Rob from England about doing an auto in a Zuk....he said in mud the 1.6 auto would slip/not pull.....said they suck....we don't do too much mud in Arizona....though......

I think (for what it's worth) an auto tranny/small lite weight V-6 would be the Cat's Meow for mud, hills and rocks:D
