Here are some really old pics of my old Scout 800A. I put a lot of time and money into building this thing up. It was a great rig.

Sad day when you can't even appreciate a nice looking rig for what it is. Not everything has to evolve into a buggy. I guess there is no way I can compete with your coolness.

No worries Mark. I have seen it before. It's like a disease that takes over the minds of men like a beautiful hooker.

Anyway, the 800 had many different drivetrains in its life. But the last in line was a 350/TH400/D300 with 78 Scout II Dana 44's with Detroits. My long term plan was to ditch the Chevy stuff and install a 392/T19/300, but I ended up selling it.

It was a great rig and I should have never gotten rid of it. Stupid move on my part. I have always wanted it back.

The only disease is the one you have to not be able to search and post your crap in the right thread.

Its a common ailment though, dont feel bad, seems a ton of newbies have been catching it in the ih forum latelly.

I think the disease has to do with self absorption. We have newbies who think that whatever drivel they want to post is so important to the world to get out there that they don't have the time to actually read anything on the board before they post. In this case the DAN thinks posting his pictures is so much of an awsome contribution to the world that he didn't need to read anything on this forum before he allowing us to view his informative photography. Without this fascinating thread I would have never known what an old IH truck looked like, that a scout could be painted yellow, or that it snowed in ID. I had heard that you could put a 1/2 cab on a early scout, but I always considered it an urban rumor, just like a factory open knuckle front 60. Actually seeing that the OP put one on his rig was another exciting tidbit of information. I wait with baited breath to find out what more useful things the OP can share after this this spectacular start on the board.

Have we forgotten what board we are on?

Get some thicker skin or find a different site, as far as I'm concerned. We all dealt with the same thing until we quit posting BS threads. In the old days, you'd post something like this and the next day it would be a 33 page thread of nonsense just to fuck your thread up [because it didn't belong on the site]. This was done to weed people out, and to better ensure that those that contribute and have merit are actually heard. On a site this big with this many members and this much history, the biggest problem is being able to find tech in all of those worthless threads. If you don't know what I mean, you don't use the search feature enough.

Please understand that not all bashing on this site is mindless banter. Sometimes it's because you posted some pointless old pics of a bolt-on machine with nothing out of the ordinary in a hardcore rock crawling website because you want to pad your 300 posts and you want to make more friends by starting a chit chat "show me your old pointless pics of ordinary rigs" thread. :flipoff2:

Looks like it was built to wheel into areas that have remote lakes:smokin:
Not every rig need to be made into a rock rod. If it runs and its dependable, its good in my book. I think I going to go put an extra coat of wax on my mine now.
