J.C. Higgins Model 29 Trigger assembly!! I picked one up off an old timer who said it was jammed and didn't know why. He said he was to old to get into it, so he wanted me to have it :smokin:

Well, it looks like the trigger assembly was taken apart and not put back together properly AT ALL:( The feed arm was upside down. The disconnector spring was not engaging. The hammer spring was just crammed in there. No wonder the bolt was stuck closed!! As soon as I dropped the trigger assembly, the bolt slid back and forth like butter!

Best I can find on teh web so far is blury .pdf files of the owners manual. I may try to get on rimfirecentral and a few other places, but was hoping someone would snap a few specific pics. If you have one, let me know and I'll tell you what I need. It's one screw to drop the assembly, so don't EVEN give me a hard time about it being a PITA :flipoff2:

I've been staring at that. And staring at the fuzzy pdf owners manual, I think the only part I'm missing is the hammer spring guide rod. (~$3.75).

The problem still is that I'm not sure how the disconnector (sear) spring is supposed to go. Someone on rimfirecentral had the same problem and posted a pic and everything, but it was solved via PM :(. I registered, waiting on the email, just so I can request whatever pic was sent to him.

Not my pics, but the only things I can find as of yet. The part that says "spring" is exactly what I'm wondering

This shows it installed correctly (maybe), but I can't see where the other spring arm attaches to creat tension. Also, it seems in this picture that the spring is creating tension in the wrong direction. It should be pushing it towards the hammer, not away. uuuurrrgh....

I think I'm confusing myself!!

$8.35 for the guide rod and loader spring (common problem, went ahead and ordered one) from Numrich

free shipping if you order online with code 5434 btw.

Hopefully this is all I need. I still need to know how to put it together

I'll figure it out one way or the other....
