i don't know of any that are 4x based. there are some good stock car fabrication books out there that can teach you the basics. but to tell you the truth i have found better 4x related stuff here than anywhere else. there was a thread a while back that was chock full of formulas and info. some bull shit and some pretty good stuff.mike

I've spent time reading through a lot of the race car/vehicle dynamic books and I think a total of about 5 pages applied to what he do, they are good for ideas though.

I agree with CJ.

I've read a lot of the car books too (there's a good list of some of the better one's on my page at http://www.rightcoastcrawler.com/billaVista/Books/Booklist.htm )

Trial and error will have to be part of your plan. And looking at what folks have done here at pbb, and what works is good too. And lastly, remember sometimes sh%$ works even when all the theory says it shouldn't, and vice versa.

Anything by author Carroll Smith. It may not all pertain to 4wd's, but has tons of usefull info. Issues like suspension dynamics, properties of metals, stresses on components, etc. I would think it is all important, except for issues on aerodynamics. Some people you can't tell anything to though, they are always the experts. :D
