I have a 1972 GMC Jimmy and I am thinking of doing a newer engine swap. I would really like a 5.3 or 6.0 4l60/4l65 transmission. The transfer case on those drop on the drivers side. If I were to use this set up I would not be able to do the front axle right away (changeing to a ford drivers drop). Without the front driveshaft will the TC leak all the fluid out?

I may keep my NP205 but that would require a transmission rebuild with a different output shaft.
