I hear a lot of whining, bitching and moaning!! Time to put up or shut up!! You are talking about a US Navy Sailor that can find the money.

Me and LC have joined CAL4WHEEL and Blue Ribbon Coalition. We are in the process of getting the info to join United and Tread Lightly!. Yes, we should have done it sooner. All we are asking is for your support. If I can find a $100 dollars a year to donate then any wheeler out there can, put it up or quit you bitching!! There are over 4000 registered members of PIRATE4X4.COM, that is a lot of cash if we only donate $10 dollars a piece. All of you spend more than $100 going wheelin in one weekend drinking beer or wheeling. Is ten bucks to much to ask? Let's get it going or I might as well park my rig with a "For Sale Sign" on it. No matter where you wheel, if we don't get together and start supporting our own cause we have lost.

You East Coast Wheelers, we need information on you organizations also. This is not just a "Left Coast Thing"! Any help you can give is greatly appreciated!!

Right on Jack! I have been saying this for a long time now. I haven't worked in two years, and can still find the money to keep up all my memberships. (CA4WDC, BRC, VCAS, NRA, NRA-ILA, CCRKBA)

I hate it when people bitch about not having any money. I'm still over 90 grand in debt and find a few bucks here and there to keep up the fight.

One person I know said they couldn't afford to join CA4WDC. I said it's only 40 bucks. He said I don't have 40 bucks as we stood at the counter at Jack in the Box and he bought 2 extra pez dispensers and an antenna ball... I said nine more "meals" like that and your membership would be paid... Some people just don't get it ...

I'm going to piss a lot of people off by doing this but here goes.

Do all of you have ten bucks to put up? I bet you do!! Those two value meals at McDonalds or those two sandwichs at Subway? Skip two of those and you just donated ten dollars to a great cause! You can't give up that you say, then you might as well put a "For Sale" sign in your vehicle!!

In WebDaddy's best voice "COM AWWWN!!!"

As a member of Tierra Del Sol I'm already
a member of Cal4Wheel. It's one of the re-
quirements to stay a T.D.S. member. The
whole club has also joined United and the
San Diego Off-Road Coolition. The club has
donated thousands of $$$$$$ to those groups
and to the Blue Ribbon Coolition. We've done
this for years.

Nice to see you wake up Jack, we all have our boiling point and I always love to see someone wake up. Welcome aboard I have been a member of Cal4Wheel for over ten years now, infact, I was a member before the tires on my Jeep ever hit the trail fairly new to BRC though.

oh ya, one prob is not enough individuals read this section of the board to even notice. It's time to open up your wallets a little guys, unless you would rather save it up for when you buy your next "suv" for highway use since all the trails are closed.

Use your Tax Rebate to forward a good cause (or more than one) and support an organization that preserves off-road recreation!

If you use one of the Congressional search engines, and find the web page for your House Representative, most have posted the
mailing schedule for the Federal tax rebate.

I am due my tax rebate in mid-August.

Blue Ribbon Coalition (http://www.sharetrails.org) and the Political Action Center at off-road.com
(http://www.off-road.com/pac/) can link you up to your government representation.

Hey, today is a great day to send your government officials an e-mail that you want them to represent your interest and support
for motorized Off-Highway Recreation!

Let them know:

I like snowmobiles.
I like personal watercraft.
I want motorized recreation in roadless areas.
I support off Highway Vehicle Recreation.

I want my elected officials to support my views (or risk losing my support for reelection).

Happy Trails!

If you promise to send that e-mail (promise), and bookmark your government representatives for future e-mails, I'll give you the
rebate dates:

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

WHEN CAN YOU EXPECT TO RECEIVE YOUR TAX REFUND?
Match the last two numbers of your Social Security number to determine when your check will be "in the mail"

00 - 09, July 23

10 - 19, July 30

20 - 29, August 6

30 - 39, August 13

40 - 49, August 20

50 - 59, August 27

60 - 69, September 3

70 - 79, September 10

80 - 89, September 17

90 - 99, September 24

Now, with the Tax rebate, there is no financial excuse to not join a support organization for off-road recreation.

Great thread.

Most people spend more money on beer for a weekend than they do to keep trails open all year. Just think about it. Where will you drink your beer if they close your trail down?

It is great to join these clubs, but also please donate to them too! The eco-wackos are well funded. We need to fund by grass roots efforts.

That's great Jack.

Right now I am a member of the AURS and now that I live in B.C. I will be joining the 4WDABC soon and probably even PNW4WDA since I am sure I will be down there to wheel quite a bit.

I won't send any money to Tread Lightly! though. They seem to be more about securing corporate funding than anything else.

I've been thinking of joining the Blue Ribbon Coalition... this post pushed me over the edge... I joined.

Dear Marco Beckwith:

This email is to confirm that your recent submission has been received,
and is currently being processed.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your generous support.
Without individuals such as yourself, the BlueRibbon Coalition could not
long continue in its battle to "preserve our natural resources FOR the
public instead of FROM the public."

For your information, I include the following facts about membership and
contributions to the BlueRibbon Coalition.

1. Membership dues are not tax deductible, but they do give you an
automatic subscription to the BlueRibbon Magazine
(www.sharetrails.org/mag), which keeps you informed of recreation access
issues nation-wide.

2. A Business or Organization membership ($100/year) comes with 5 issues
each month of the BlueRibbon Magazine, sent to whichever officers or
representatives you choose. Further, such a membership classification
entitles you to a 25% discount on any display advertising you place in
the BlueRibbon Magazine for your business or organization.

3. You will receive a packet in the mail containing further details on
the benefits of membership, and forms for applying for any of these
benefits which are not automatic.

4. Contributions outside or in addition to membership dues are fully tax
deductible. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you intended all or part of your
contribution to stand as your membership, but do not think that you
indicated this by clicking one of the membership option buttons when you
signed up, please let us know. We can correct this error quickly and
easily (1-800-258-3742 or brcorrections@sharetrails.org). Due to IRS
regulations, if you did not specify that part of your contribution was
intended for membership, we must count the entire amount as a
contribution and you will not be recorded as a new or renewing member.

If you need clarification on any of the above issues, or wish to discuss
your membership, please contact the BlueRibbon Coalition Membership
Office (1 800-258 3742 or brmem@sharetrails.org).

Thanks again for your support!
