I have a 77 pickup, as you may or may-not know, and right now it doesnt have a blower motor, and winter is getting here in a real hurry in northern iowa, i was told by a dodge guy that i needed a three speed switch from an 86-89 truck, which i got, but the new switch has 4 wires compared to the old one thats in the truck only having three, ive been told that melting the connection because of too high amperage is common, so what has any/everybody done to fix this problem?

from what i understand they cant handle the voltage/amps that dodge wired them to have, heats them up and burns them out, and the top and chopped yet sucka!

never heard of that problem. mine worked fine in the ramcharger i had, but never used it that much  seriously, that sounds like a ground problem. maybe run another ground wire from the switch or motor(whichever gets hot) to the chassis?
