i hate you people in Cali... really I do... You send FJ's to the crusher that we'd call "not bad", and have an endless supply of cheap parts!!! BASTIDS!!!
That's OK...I'll trade the parts supply for all the eco-nazi's you have to live with there...

Peter,
I'll pick up the whole thing if you just want to get it out of there. I've got to plan a trip to Sunnyvale anyway, sometime next week. Just let me know if the other deals fall thru.

You've gotta to be kidding me! Yeah we've got a lot of FJ's with rust free bodies, but because of that they are still on the road and the supply of stock drivetrain parts is slim. Back East the bodies rust away long before the drivetrain. We pay twice what you guys do for replacement parts because junked rigs are few and far between!

This is true. A friend just picked up a complete 73 40 a few months back with 32K original on it, PTO setup (winch, box, shafts, etc) and all...
..for $300. And it runs perfectly with almost perfect compression across the boards.
We throw out tons of parts that some would kill for (axles, tranny/transfers.
However, I would rather scam for parts than deal with rust deamons like broken bolts, infected cuts from rust, 34 lbs of bondo on parts trucks....
By the way, on the aforementioned truck...don't ask..it;s all gone :flipoff2:

well, it looks like its spoken for...if it doesnt work out i'll let you know..:)
Alright! my lucky day! Thanks very much Peter.
I will keep the third member and short side axle shaft for trail spares, the long side axle shaft is going to Craig (Mr. Shipwreck).
I will part out the axle. If you need anything else like the housing, birfields, knuckles, brakes,... let me know they're all yours for the shipping or come and claim it. I just gave out bunch of free cruiser parts on lcml so it gotta be the good karma! Pls email me at dirttrak@employees.org
Peter, let me know a good time to pick it up. I live in San Jose too so it will be easy.
Thanks again.
