Getting ready to go spring over. If I run a traction bar a'la Sams Offroad style, should I still worry about getting military wrapped springs, or will it not be an issue with a good traction bar?

The thing I like about wraps is if you break you main leaf you have a better chance of getting your junk off the trail. <IMG SRC="smilies/skull.gif" border="0">

the military wrap isn't necessary but nice for reasons already stated. i run the jc whitney 7 leaf hd springs for the rear of a cj at all four corners and i like them alot. they flex nice and they seem to keep thier shape better than wrangler springs. they are mil. wrapped on both eyes too. i think they are $69 a piece.

JC Whitney has too good of a deal to pass up.

They do have a good deal, but I was hoping to use a 1.5-2" lift spring, and other than going with Alcan$, I haven't been able to find such a spring with a military wrap. I'm pretty sure everyone who has used the JCwhitney springs gained about 1-1.5' lift from them over stock, for that last 1/2 go with a longer shackle

Do you mean that the JCW springs for the YJ also prowide 1-1.5" lift ?

Or use BDS 2" springs, they are military wrapped and guaranteed for life! <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

But seriously on the mil wrap issue I learned by helping Scott M. w/ his SOA be sure the shackles will work with the wraps. His had bracing that wouldn't let the spring go in where it needed to be so he had to modify them pretty heavily to work correctly. Actually no bracing is present now but it will be welded in.. <IMG SRC="smilies/wink.gif" border="0">

I was thinking more of the HD CJ-7 rear springs, which will work great for you
