: Dimple Die Lube

What are you guys using for lube with your dimple dies? I just got my set from Barbwire and want to ensure they last along time. I got the 4140 set. The couple holes I did today I just used white lithium grease.

White lithium shold be fine.

So far I have used mine dry with no ill effects. I think the cleanliness of the hole is more important than the lube.:flipoff2:

Yeah, I originally said the cleanliness of the steel, but then I thought to myself, wait a minute this is pirate dammit:evil:

i use what ever oil is closest. grease would be a litle messy to clean up.

Dont use ATF, you will never get that crap off of metal.

Food grade anti-seize..................Easy to clean off and cheap for me to locate:D


Also, make sure your hole is free of burrs and sharp edges.
