I'm looking for a product similar to Avalanche's "boulder bushings" to be used in place of a heim at one end of a suspension link. Theirs only come in 3/4" size. Anybody know where I could find something similar in a larger 1 1/4" size? Thanks.

hey PIG, i am looking for something like that to use for the 4 link on the rear of my cruiser.... are you recommending these be used at one end of the link and then a heim at the other... i am running dana 60's with 39.5 boggers... how well do you think your links will hold and how much does it cost to rebuild them....

These would be the quietest option. As for strength the sleeves they come with are 9/16" bore. It might be a good idea to bore them out to 5/8" but they should be fine. You could use anything.....RE rebuildable bearing, rod end, etc... It comes down to preferance. They are all pretty much the same price (the bushing shown is a bit more expensive but not much).

BTW those bushings are NICE! Got to see them yesterday. Seems like a good way to go to keep things clean and adjustable.
As for the strength issue, keep in mind how big leaf spring bolts usaully are. There around 9/16" or so. Should be strong enough.

PIG, is this what you were talking about at camp? What size bolt can i put through it when there is no sleeve?

Sweet:). Do you have the load ratings for those? I'm also interested in hearing the answer to elf-cruiser's question. Thanks.

Moab, there is a lip at the end of each bushing. Here is another pic.

Yes Elf dude. Without the sleeve you can run a 1" bolt.

Chris, sorry but I don't have an answer to your first question. What you would do is have to find the durometer of the PU (I don't have this info.) and find the compression strength and take it from there and do some more math. I do not think load rating will be a big deal if you are just planning on using them in links.

Check my response to Elf's question above.

so pig, is it cool to run these things without the bushings or will it wear them down too quickly. I'm sure that 9/16 is PROBABLY big enough, but I know 1" is.

pig, your site seems to be down right now, so I can't check myself - do you offer those weld-in threaded inserts for tubing that will fit these? I seem to remember you only offering the .75" and 1.25" size? Thanks.

That's a really cool idea. :)

One thing though- don't you think that if the links are twisted side to side that the edge will slice right through the bushing lip? Those edges look thin and "sharp" compared to the edge of a leaf spring or whatever...

I think it would be OK but make sure that there are NO threads rubbing the inside of the bushing. This WILL trash them.

Yes, the server went down yesterday. We are back onliine now. Yes, the 1"-14 weld in inserts will hopefully be available next week. Check the site, the seceond they are in, the second they will be uo on the site.

If you think that the bushing, in your application, will see alot of twisting motion don't use it. Use something that will allow for some deflection. If you are looking specifically at the frame mounts I would look at an RE or JJ. I kind of prefer the RE thats why we have them. They are also cheaper than running a big rod end (rod end+mis. spacers+weld in tube adapter). They are easy to assemble, have easy adjustable preload, and have a higher load rating than a JJ.
