Just got a reply from Mark's...

1991 FJ-80s will have T-Case gears (3:1) available by the end of this year (which is only a matter of months).

The big question is....can I combine the gears with a part time 4WD conversion so I can plunk some hubs in up front, lose my center diff, and still add those lower gears =).

3:1 low in the t-case and 5.29s in the diffs should make offroad a little slower with the auto, and the 5.29s should make the 3FE a little less impotent on the road ;)

I will post info, links, and price once this little adventure begins.

I'm pysched to hear about the part time 4wd conversion, I think
it'll make a big difference in milage and power. I don't particularly think the 3FE is the culprit, seems to power a FJ62 pretty well with 700-1000lb less weight, but that weight shouldn't make the gobs of difference driving a 62 and 80 have with the same engine & tranny. My theory is full time 4wd sucks actually.
