: use the klune or sell it?
joeinnm 10-22-2009, 06:28 AM couple months ago, I bought a used Klune, I had 1.3L, 5spd, 6.5t/c 5:13 sam difs. with ARB. I am putting in a 2.0 Vitara motor, I have toy, 4:30axles to roll under it too. What would you put in the middle? A sidekick 3spd? or the zuk 5 spd? I am keeping the 6.5 t case for now. With the auto, I have been told the Klune is unnecessary.
I am running 35's with the intention of staying close to that to imitate street legal for now. But when they are worn, I am probably going bigger. The 4:88 gears have been recommended as well. I want to stay where I can cruise about 60 also.
Use the klune or sell it?
cajunsuzukispider 10-22-2009, 06:38 AM they're not cheap, so I'd keep it until I know for sure that I wouldn't need it with an auto. besides you may not need it with an auto, but are you positive right now that you'll keep the auto tranny? you may go back to stick and want it.

You wont need it.
Valley Auto 10-22-2009, 05:49 PM Yeah you definetly wont "need" it but it would be cool!!
crashnzuk 10-22-2009, 07:55 PM Keep the Klune and swap the 6.5:1 for a 4.16:1. This will give you a higher high range for the road, but more gearing options for the trail.
Travis..
gatorzuk 10-22-2009, 08:20 PM Keep it! The difference in control is night and day. My old setup was the stock 1.3FI/sidekick auto/Klune and 6.5 t-case with 5.29's and 37". Now that I've gone totally Toy(22r/W56/2 case's),I feel it needs 4.7's in the back case to get back to where it was.

Yea very true I feel I gained a ton of control with my 6.5 and shogun setup versus just the 6.5
Hvy_Chevy 10-23-2009, 03:55 AM sell it and get a kicker doubler
joeinnm 10-23-2009, 08:46 AM I had considered going back to the 4:16 t/case, but if I put the toy axles in at 4:30 instead of 5:13, I am still getting to the same point, right?
Why is the kicker doubler better than the klune? Only difference I can find is about $500 more cost for the klune, but I already have it, all I gotta do is put it in.
samiguy 10-23-2009, 05:19 PM The kicker will bolt to the automatic, the klune will not
joeinnm 10-25-2009, 07:47 AM started piecing it together yesterday, I am going with I have on hand now, putting the klune in with the 5spd and the 6.5 t/c and will try it with the 5.13, I know it will be geared way lower than I want, I am thinking the 2.0 and the stock 4.3 toy axle will be next. Waiting on the harness for the 2.0 from TT now.
I can either buy a new Premier alternator or build a new bracket so my big 160 amp alt will work with the 2.0. I would of had the right alternator if I had not converted the 1.3 to the GM alt......oh well, just like me to have to do things 2 or 3 times to get it right.
RATHEFSJMAN 10-25-2009, 09:05 AM just ship it to me 74063 ill take that pice of crap off ur hands... because you should keep it
