So I needed something back there...
and this was my answer.

The original plan was to have these 55 watt backup / rock lights at a 45 degree angle, but that was over-kill. They work just fine at this angle.

It makes a good step for a rear "wieght spotter"
AS I found out I needed when I almost went endo
last week!

I dipped it in rubber...we'll see how long that'll last

thats a cool concept. I like how you made pushed it out in the middle, I would wrap it around the corners though.

I'm just looking for an excuse to lose the quarters!

Looks sweet.

Methinks you will be loosing the tailgate first with a 33 and a highlift on it though. :D

... and you will. ;) I made my bumper flush with the corners and sheetmetal always gets hit first.:p

yea...the tailgate thing is bugging me!

I beefed it with a 2x4 tube across the top
(take a close look)

and the stock tire mount is mounted to this tube and the door (now 4" higher allowing the 33 to miss the bumper)

but...

I haven't wheeled with other Suzukis yet (this coming weekend will be the first time)...

I'd like to know what bad things happen to the door first?
twist?
bend?
latch?
hinges?

A buddy of mine had his tire and high lift mounted the same way you have yours. His hinges ripped right out of the body.

- petroworks = yes

- likes it = not sure yet (don't like sheet metal mounting with any "so-called" sport cage)

- could use some beefed angle supports

- and the next step would be to weld it up rather than bolt, but, I would have to be confident that I don't need to remove the dash.

- good because you can run the soft top without the rear hoop
