okay, i not being to up on the binder knowledge alwyas thought the SII had or were capable of a back seat --i remember a few years back --when you coudl actaully see som IH's on the road that some of tehm had back seats--these could avhe other models but thought i had seen some scouts too --
a back seat is something im looking for in shopping for a trail rig
im really liking the SII to top that list of prespective models--but the more i look at pic's and and stuff-- im not seeing any back seats-- and a few intereior shots it looks like the floor pan jumps up right behind the front seats that woudl make --i was wrong in thinking SII had back seats at all --
so can you guys settle this for me
TIA
Old Scout 09-24-2002, 01:21 PM Nope never seen a back seat:rolleyes:
T1H5_TA3 09-24-2002, 01:30 PM i took the rear seat out of my 800, its currently being used as a couch next to the burn pit at the house.. prob one of the best uses for it! now i have space for a tool box, fuel cell, and a spare!
Sully 09-24-2002, 01:34 PM SII's had back seats. Not sure what the heck my buddies have been riding on back there if they didn't!
Unless you got one that had a cab-top (pickup style), or someone has removed it, there is a back seat there. It's a fold and tumble style just like most of the other 4WD's from that era.
snoop dogg 09-24-2002, 01:35 PM it's a tight fit and was all torn up so i just got rid of my backseat
i have one that was just re covered in black tweed if anyone is interested. no rom for it any more.
pat
Sully 09-24-2002, 02:49 PM I might be interested Pat.. mine is in pretty ugly shape. What do you want for it?

JaccDaRipper 09-24-2002, 05:52 PM thanks for getting me straightened out guys-- maybe alot fo people are removing tehm-- and the low profile of them keeps them from being obvious in sideview pics
all i cna say from teh pic shown above--is im damn glad i dont avhe to sit behind myself--

Oh no, quick run while you can :flipoff2:
The back seat is easy to remove, when I've got the kids with me it's in, the rest of the time I pull it, six screws and it's out.

snoop dogg 09-24-2002, 10:50 PM floor...i just cut mine out though...2 bolts on each side were completely rusted shut to the brackets, and the seat was all ripped up, so i just cut it out first then grinded the bolt heads off...easier with the seat out of the way

Uhm yeah I feel like fighting with a plate underneath every time. I just zip the seat free and use the mounts as tie down points
hey pat,
i just paid 275.00 to have it re covered.... now im runing wheel tubs... hence no room for it. its black tweed with black vynl sides and back. there is a small cut in the back vynl part, but can be easily fixed. hows 125.00 sound? i can get pics today if interested. since it has been re upholstered i havent even bolted it into the truck. comes with hinges and plates.
pat

I tacked my plates when I was under the truck one time with the welder.
Works very nice, I can just whiz the seat out with the impact, or slap it in.
hmmm didn't think of tie downs... I put some BEHIND the wheel well.... but they would make a good place to move the stuff forward.... hmmmmm

Well, with your tacked in place plates, just fab up some mounts that you can just bolt right up the same seat mounts. Buzz the seat out and slap the mounts in.
DogDenII 04-07-2003, 09:52 AM How about putting a Jeep seat back there?
SnowScoutII 04-07-2003, 11:03 AM I cant wait to get rid of the Back seat, Its just an excuse for people to cram others into your rig!
