Do you have battery boxes that mount the batteries side by side rather than lengthwise? I thought I saw that style on the web site before, but today when I went to order it I couldn't find it.

O.k. here is the version in the works. It has been in the design phase for a while. Not shown is the middle piece that will bolt to the bottom of the box and hold the inner edges of the battery in place. It also incorporates our unique ends that fit in the battery hold down slots which give it a very clean appearance while holding the battery firmly in place.

There will most likely be 3 versions of this box so that you can arrange the batteries in whichever configuration fits your needs. The boxes will be the same for the 3 versions, however the top will be contoured different to fit the different arrangements. This version should be on the website for sale by the end of the week.

Dimensions:

Height ~ 7"
Width from hold down tab to hold down tab ~ 14.5"
Length ~ 11"

These are subject to change until the final product is on the website.

As promised. Picking up a second battery this afternoon to test fit them both to make sure they fit as well in reality as they do in cartoon land.

Expected pricing is similar to our other dual battery box.

Looks good. I'll order one as soon as they're posted. I just received my single Optima battery box today and will mount it tomorrow if it stops snowing/raining.:smokin:

Any word on when they will be listed on the website? I need to buy one to get rid of the ghetto fab setup I currently have.

Any thought of doing something for the Odyssey batteries since Optimas are crap reliability these days?

I could make a box for them. What is the common Odyssey part # that everyone is running? I've heard the rumors about Optima's and have yet to see it first hand. 4 of my cars have Optimas and 2 of them are pushing 6 years of use. I've found that they do better under heavy use. If you just let the car sit and don't drive it they will go dead.

I believe that you will find that Odyssey PC1200's are the most commonly used. The problem I have had with optimas is one time of draining them down and they don't seem to come back. I have a PC1700 and it's been through hell and back in my truck. Sits for months at a time. Looking to replace with a PC1200 or possibly duals though since the 1700 is huge

The red tops are not deep cycle batteries, only the yellow and maybe the marine (blue)... could be part of the problem.

I know Optima went through a rough spot when they moved from Colorado to Mexico but I am told there quality is back up and things are as good as they were.

I used to sell Optimas in my stereo shop and the Optima rep told me the yellow and blue are internally the same. The blue has to have marine ratings. The blue and yellow also have different terminals.

I'm pretty sure it will be on the site in the morning. I think it was up this afternoon, but just cannot be seen by the public yet. Thanks for checking.
