how much tire can a stock toyota front take in snow? I'm considering getting a set of larger tires just for snow running. something large enough that I wouldnt run them in the dry. the rig is a mostly stock 83 long bed tired 22r, bobbed, dual cases/stock gears, RUF, hybrid rear pack, 4.37:1 welded rear, open front, push pull steering:shaking:. currently running on 33x10 AT's mostly for street. might go to another welded front just for snow. oh, you might have noticed Im on a tight budget. am I just asking for trouble with the stock steering and shafts and birfs? I know snow is easier on parts and stuff but I'd rather not break in it. I was hoping to find something like some dick cepek F/C around 37" but probably whatever I can get for cheap is what it will be. probably something pretty worn down which I will cut.

Round here most guys run 38s on stock axles. Only thing they do really is weld the front and put 5.29s in it. If your not going to gear it I wouldnt go bigger than 35s or 37s. Any mud terrain like bfgs, procomp, mtr, etc work really good in that size. If your not going to run it on the street much I would get some 36 Iroks. Keep your eye out on craigslist.

what do those guys usually break? do they run stock steering and does that hold up to 38's? I'd love to go crossover but probably next year. I have a complete spare steering setup so Im not too scared about it, although I wont be flogging it too hard.
I would not be running these tires on the street at all, strictly for snow. thats my idea anyway. I found a set of 37 boggers forget what width, i think 15, they have like 1/4" tread. with low tread and some creative cutting will they still dig?
