Ok since I've been such a good little girl this year the ol'man is getting me an Aluminum Body for my rig which means out the window with the TJ 98 body. What I am still undecided about is which body. I want to drive it to the trail head and since most trails any where close are in Cali I would need the wide body. But I want to play with all the big boys and go on all the bitchen trails too! The only thing is I also need this body to last me a few years.

Ok so what Im asking is what body do you think is best is this situation???

I kinda like the comp j bucket or comp cj7 myself! Durham's new rig has a JP Offroad body... I like it. Thats Just a lot of cash for a new tub.

I think you should get the CJ7/YJ/TJ stock width body. They are fawkin tough. I have seen Kathy beat hers pretty hard this year, and it still looks sweet!

This is kinda what Im thinking. I want to be able to drive it to the trail and the stock width would alow me to do so.

What this rig is gonna be:

A trail rig that's set up to compete if need be. I know Im kinda grasping at all of the straws here but I just dont want something that is for Comps ONLY and yet I want the reliability and Durability of a comp rig.

Ummm.....

Tara what body are you thinking about???? the "comp" one verses the std. one? I think you just said you want a wide body. So that leaves the wide one.......

or possibly the wide one. :flipoff2:

What body do you have now? I may need it if the rules look like what we thought.

while i like the bobbed cj8 i think if i had any comps in mind the j-bucket would be the ticket. there is just less sheet metal to screw up. you could build a rear tubed flatbed/storage area and over all you can come out lighter. if it is just a street rig then definately the bobbed 8 but for real wheeling get the j-bucket. just my op. :D
