it's an Advance lathe ( green , belt head , approx 1.5" thru the headstock... 13 x 40... over running clutch on the feed rod , shear pin on the lead screw, ball bearing oil points on the saddle and cross slide ...

these were available from Thomas Skinner through the 90's

oh and I have one also , :D

and it looks like you're missing the 127 tooth gear for the quick change gear box

Very cool.

By the quick change gear box are you meaning the auto-feed motor,? I know we're missing that, it's part of the reason I want to ID it. Tryinbg t find out if parts are still available so we can have the feed, and trying to find a manual that says what everything actually does.

When we got it, it had just been rebearing/resealed, and it came with new spares for everything, since you're local to me, do you know if there's a local source for hard parts? Or info

Thanks.:D

There's no "motor" for the power feed. It doesn't work because of the gears missing on the end.

OK, thanks that makes sense. I know very little about lathes, learning as I go here.

Weird coincidence - I just sold a Jet 1024 to a member here a couple weeks ago.

Yours looks like a Jet 10x?? that's been painted green - The placards for the feed speeds have been taken off. Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but It doesn't work "mint" because it doesn't have power longitudinal or cross feed as it sits. It's strictly manual feed, and has no thread cutting ability unless you can fix it. They came in a couple variations - some you can get parts for, some you can't.

Probably broke something in the quick change box, which explains the hanging levers and why the side gear is missing. Apparently they lost the side cover too.

Here's a manual that should get you in the ballpark. It's not quite the same model you have but it's pretty damn close.
