I have an '02 Dodge 3500 CTD. It has straight exhaust right now, no muffler at all. It sounds good, but is too loud and I'm getting tired of it..I'm sure the neighbors are too :D

I dont want it to be as quiet as a stock truck, but not too loud either. What would be a good muffler to get the best of both worlds?

Get a 51 inch donaldson, i found ryder fleet supply to be the best price.

Here is what I did

I bought this

M110189 (https://dynamic.donaldson.com/webc/WebStore/search/item_detail.html?section=10211&item=21593)

it has a 4" inlet and outlet so I had to modify that to work with my 3" exhaust.. down the road I will get all 4" pipe, but I just need to get this truck running and I wanted it to be a lot qiuet then it used to be..

here is pick of where exhaust exits

you can kinda see how big this muffler it is

this pic shows how I had to modify the 4" into 3"

Hushpower makes an awesome muffler. Pricey but you get what you pay for.

WTF?

got a 3 inch glasspack on mine. To me, its just the right balance between straightpiped and actually having a muffler.
All I hear on the highway is the turbo whistling through the cowl courtesy of the scotty II intake.

I've put a 4" MBRP turbo back system on my 07 PSD and liked the sound I got with it. A few months later, I moved out to the sticks and decided to yank the muffler and install the delete pipe in it's place since I wasn't driving thru town at 2am anymore. I've still got the muffler, was used for approx 30K miles. Let me know if interested as I'm tired of looking at it sit in the garage:D

My '97 CTD was straight piped when I bought it. I put a 4" MBRP exhaust on it and couldnt be happier.

I bought the 41" Donaldson from Ryder Fleet for my 98 24v. Had to get 4" to 3" adapters from Summit and a short piece of 3" from the local muffler shop.

I like it. Straight through design. Still plenty loud, but no resonance like with a straight pipe.

The MBRP has a great sound and decent for noise, but if you're looking for quite my Magnaflow is pretty quiet.....at least compared to the MBRP my Dad has :)
