I need a new pump. Im running my stock ford pump and would like to upgrade to something better. I would like to use my stock bb ford brackets. I have a hard time turning my 49s when in deep mud, it works the hell out of my pump. Ive done some work to it and it helped but still not good enough

mustange70 that link you posted was badass. Ive thought about using a hydro pump but had a lot of questions. Seems like all you have to do is just mount the pump and make sure you have you set the pressure and flow, and the right pulley. Then just run the hell out of it. Ive wondered how to get around the rpm part but sounds like it doesnt matter that much as long as you have a good supply of oil. Im running a 2x8 ram, nothing fancy just off the self from deere.

Yeah good supply of oil, and try to size the pulley's to keep the rpm's down as best you can and you're set. I'll be running a prince pump that was setup on a sbc, if i remember right it puts out like 18gpm max. so a flow limiter will be need, but i'll never have to worry about it.

On my front steering, I'm using an older, stock GM pump with a 2" x 10" ram, turning 46" tires. I know it's not high tech, but it's been that way for years with no problems. One thing, though, I use an inline cooler on the return line.
