i have an 89 wrangler soa with rubicon express leafs front and rear. I relocated my rear spring hangers under my frame and used the stock length shackles. That gave me 2" extra lift on top of the soa. In the front i had to compincate with a 2" lift shackle. "I know stupid" now i am fighting these giant things every time i come up to a under cut or huge ledge. I am looking for a way to get away from these shackles with out the obvious "linked front or shackle reversal". Also i know blocks are a bad idea due to axle wrap. Any one got a good idea or should i just do a reversal. If so is there any drawback to that. I wheel with Toyota's and they dont seem to have a problem, although i saw a thread on here a while back about it and could not find it after i searched today? any ideas.

well I was messing around with SOA on my rig a couple of months back before I gave up on it. What I came up with to lower the jeep and keep the clearance was to shave the rear alxe perches to the point that the leaf spring through bolt (the one that holds the pack together) touched the axle tube and then weld them back on. I also re-drilled the fixed end of the rear spring hanger about 1-1.5" higher. All of this might get you an inch or so. If you cut off your rear shackle hanger and removed all of the extra material and then re-weld it on, you might be able to lower more. At that point you wouldn't need as big of a shackle up front. Need pics of your stuff to really tell.

i like where the back sits purely trying to address the front. Any ideas or good shackle reversal threads you can link me to. i love the way my jeep flexes now so i dont want to compromise that either.

You could run an add a leaf up front or use blocks with a ladder bar to help prevent axle wrap
