well just when i thought I had my power steering finished I realized how much of a dumbass I am. I pulled the power steering off of a `79 scout II and spent two days putting it on my bronco redrilled the frame, made brackets for saginaw pump, flipped the pitman arm etc. the problem is that when I turn my steering wheel right the tires turn left due to the pitman arm being reversed. My question, is there anyway to reverse a PS box or am I screwed?

you need to "flip" the pitman arm back to the position it is supposed to be in for the scout box. on the scout box the pitman must be clocked toward the front, once you correct this the pitman will push the drag link to the right on a right hand turn rather than pull to the left which is what you have going on now. what pitman arm are you using?

I am using the stock bronco pitman arm, If I flip the arm though won`t my drag link be at to much of an angle from the tie rod? it might bind. I cant move the box back because it will be getting into the coil bucket

You should be able to reverse the box, here's a thread with at least some info http://classicbroncos.com/forums/showthread.php?t=149278

The early bronco p/s internals fit the scout box to reverse the rotation.

Another option is to dig around at the wrecking yard and find a mid 90's Astro van with AWD...then swap the guts into the EB or Scout box (you reuse your sector shaft). The big benefit here is that they are the quicker ratio gears...so no more 6 turns lock to lock! A lot of the Sag box parts haven't changed much for years...

Finding the right box is a bit of a PITA. You need one with a constant ratio (all the teeth on the sector shaft are the same). It's been several years since I did this and just happened to run across the idea on one of the EB forums. The guys at WTO can likely point you in the right direction if you want to investigate this option. I don't recall the S10 boxes being the ones to look for, but that info may have come out after I was scrounging around! If that is the case, that should be a lot easier to find!

Good luck!

Sounds like a good reason to stretch the front end...
