i'm running dual tranny coolers on my '02 automatic frontier. one of them is a b&m cooler with a piggy backed spal efan and one is a permacool aluminum snake cooler.
i'm currently using rubber hose and hose clamps and the factory cooler inlet/outlets from the tranny. it seems i have to constantly check and re-tighten the clamps because they commonly come loose, and on a recent trip, a clamp came loose causing tranny fluid to spray all over the front end of my truck in the desert. not cool.

i'm sick of this hose clamp bullshit and i'm going to get some steel braided lines going from the tranny pan to the cooler. i plan on getting started next week and i will put up pictures of the install and result.

How are you connecting the lines to the trans? Are you taking the trans fittings to the hose shop and getting something made? Have you though about just using aero quip style line instead of rubber lines from the local auto store? I think a high quality line would probably fix the problem. Also where are these lines blowing off at?

i have to double check, but i would imagine the hard lines are just tapped into a bung on the side of the tranny.
the hose isn't the problem, its the hose clamps that keep coming loose. the sending line from the tranny keeps coming loose where the hose meets the hardline, and also where it meets the cooler.

Take the hard line to a hose shop and have them crimp on some power steering hose. Crimp an AN fitting on the other end that will fit the cooler side.

hard lines are out. first thing tomorrow, i'm going to take some measurements and get the hoses made. while the hoses are being made, i'm going to drop the pan and have some heat sink fins burned on. should help some.

What is the diameter of the hose you are using?
