Costco has Hitachi 4.5" grinders in the warehouse for $29 - While mine is only a week old, it seems like a good deal compared to the HF cheapies. I know some people will not like the slide switch instead of a deadman, but I have had my Dewalt with a slide switch since 96 and had no issues.

Model is a G 12SS

That is a good price for that tool however it's only a 5 amp grinder. they're not giving it away by any means, but it looks like it's 5-10 dollars cheaper than i can find elsewhere on the web.

After using 9-11 amp toolss, you'll never go back to the light-duty stuff.:smokin:

That's around what I bought mine for from Fleet farm years ago. Good grinder, hard to kill. I prefer the slide switch to the squeeze type.

Yep. I use a 10 amp everyday, and the next time I buy a grinder it will be one of the new 12-13 amp models.

I have been fabbing with my Dewalt since somewhere around 95/96 and it has been fine - it s also a 5A unit. I have never stalled it out. Besides having another grinder to but sanding discs or flap wheels on will be welcome.

I have one and love it I have a big dewalt also but 9 times out of 10 I pick it up it is light and works good. I use it almost everyday at my shop for cutting junk for rusty pos cars and trucks.

I have had a Hitachi 7 amp for years and have no complaints. The gearcase is smaller than on my makitas and dewalt meaning that the gears are probably smaller, but it sometimes allows me to get in to tighter spots than I can with the other grinders and allows me to get more life out of a cutting wheel.
