Which is better or more would offer more strength? They both seem to have advantages and disadvantatges. Thanks for the input <IMG SRC="smilies/thefinger.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/jester.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/beer.gif" border="0">

I have body mounted ones from 4xDoctor and like them alot. The frame mounted ones seem like they use up alot of clearance, but I know people with them and they're happy with 'em, so I guess it's a matter of personal preference..

I have the Currie body mounted ones and
they've held up very well. I've had them on
for over 4 years and smacked them really
hard and all I see are some scrape marks.

I broke two sets of frame mounted ones. The arms have to be so long that there's a lot of leverage there, they will break or bend if battered.

Thanks! I'm going for body mounted gaurds. My concern was clearance and the length needed to mount to the frame. <IMG SRC="smilies/beer.gif" border="0">

I like the diamond plate that bolts to the side of the body with the edge that rolls under the body a litte. I've seen this take some real punishment and not do any damage and they don't take any ground clearance
Put 4x3x.25 angle on a buddy's YJ, about $15-20 (just a guess, bought a bunch of steel that day) three bolt to the tub, and end of story. We brought it out west and beat the sh1t out of the rockers, I don't think a door would fit on his rig right now with out the guards. The only problem is the drivers side rocker guard tried to pull away from the body when he had to pivot on a rock and let the right side tires drive.
Here is a crappy pic:

I have the Sun Performance ones and have been real happy with them. Bolts right to the tub so there is nothing hanging down to rob your clearance.

I like my frame mounted model....11 bolts, three contact arms...I beat the hell out of them and they've really held up well....

Made mine to mount to the frame and the tub. That is also what the cage mounts to in the front.
I like to keep my head round when I fall over.
