Did everyone get this. they lowered the entry fees.

----------------------------------------------------------------

These changes are an attempt to increase competitor numbers in all the classes at we rock...

1. Lowering Series Points fund to $200 on the season - 50% deduction in season payout. Effects Modified Stock, Pro Modified and Unlimited Classes.

2. Offering a 1 time per year exhibition entry to any class - $200 entry for that one event. Entry will not effect event points, series points or purse payout.

3. Reducing Modified Stock purse entry fee to $200 per event - 30% reduction in purse entry fee.

4. Reduce the Formula Toy purse entry fee to $100 per event - 50% reduction in purse entry fee.

There may be more changes as we evaluate the current economic situation

Thanks

That will be a big help for us since we are running without financial support, and trying for all 4 events.

I appreciate the effort, but i am still going to have to look at something a little more regional. The juice just aint worth the squeze. Its not the purse thats hurting me, a 50% reduction in purse fees, means a 50% reduction im money i might have a chance in winning. Its the 12hr drives that everyone has to make at some point or another along with hotel and eats. Taking a 100.00 out of the pot that i might possibly win( I think im getting a little better) acually makes me re think even going to the 2 events that are only 4.5 hrs away.

Well we can't please everyone I guess..... we can't possibly add anything to the purse ourselves, if it's not worth it to come compete, I guess you stay home......

If you plan to compete in the Western series, you don't have to worry about getting any money back for winning. I already got that taken care of :flipoff2:.

I mean this in the nicest way.. You're way out to lunch. I live more than 23 hours away from oroville, the closest comp. This is the deal sealer in the decision to take 5-6 days off for each event.

Rich, thanks. Hope to see you soon.

Please dont take me the wrong way, I think that it is a great thought in trying to help make the class grow.As a matter of fact, i dont think that there is realy any thing more we rock could to to put on a better show. What i am refering to is my situation, And on the east coast there are more copetitors in stockmod and the guys that can make the haul might switch classes for the bigger pot. I hope things change for me, and i can win back some of the dough i gave away this year, but it looks like i cant afford the fuel to the long events. Where ever i compete i will proudly display my we rock t-shirt, just as soon as i get it in the mail. Big, I am not putting down werock. I think its a top notch event. My problem isnt with we rock, its paying for the gas in the tow rig.

Seems like in every competitive venue I have undertaken when I start to try to "break even" or "win back my investment" the fun factor goes out the window. I have settled for fun per dollar investment and life is much sweeter. I know it will cost me X amount to do an event and anything I get back is just icing on the cake. I do hear what you're saying though.

I thank WERock for looking at this and taking the steps to make these classes more doable for the average guy.

I agree with John.
When my regional comp put $1400 in cash and prizes for first place it was not as much fun. We were spending crazy before and after each event to make sure the car was in top shape. We probably spent way more than we won to make sure we were comp ready at every event. We were actually worried about wheeling the car between comps for fear of breakage.
My favorite events to date were Dayton, Jellico and MO 2008. We went with an attitude of having fun win, lose, or draw. we had an absolute blast.
I did not enter the F toy arena to be the ultimate east coast wheeler. I entered for fun. Anything above fun was considered "icing on the cake".
I hope this change will allow the class to grow more. More competitors will mean more payback for the winner. More competitors is good for the class and rocksports in general.
I will agree that the 12 hour drive sucks! I thought we would never arrive in MO.

Lastly Skonkerd,
I look forward to kicking your ass all season at Gulches in 2010.:flipoff2::flipoff2: You better start practicing now.

This is a great class and is so much cheaper than any other class, i ran # 48 last season and got 2nd, and took home money one time, and i got the idea that i was going to build another buggy and do unlimited class, i have already got more money in this rig than i would have had in 3 ftoys. take it from me stay ftoy and have a good time, by far the best bang for the buck, there is really no more money in any other class when you figure it up, the more you win the more that has to come from the wallet:D

keep up the good work werock
see yall in the unlimited class:D

I agree with that statement. I am building a go fast car and the cost is off the charts.

I quit drinking after Harlan last week. Moonshine bad, MOONSHINE BAD!
At least unitl the next Harlan trip in Spring anyway.

Thats not even a real bet. You need to step it up a notch.
You want to win money? How about $100 per event.

I have nothing to lose.

Breaking your pride or spirit is no fun.

Taking your money would be a lot of fun.

If money stays tight we can come up with some bet to make it interesting.

We should rename this the smack talk thread.

I may slow down the "go fast" build to run Werock and Gulches again 2010.
