i am building a new toy its a 95 f150 on tons three link front shackle flip in the back 38 inch swampers for now. the truck currently has the stock 5 speed and straight six . the motor is blown and i have a stroked 351 sittin on the stand ready to go in .should i run the stock 5 speed or swap in my zf out of an f350 thats sittin on the garage floor also . i know one is way stronger but how long do you think it will last.

not long, esp. with 38'. people blow them all the time behind 302 all the time with minimal beating. I say go straight to the zf now instead of later

^what he said. zf trans will last you longer, the mazda trans in my farm truck is about wasted behind the stock 5.0 motor.

Yep the M50D is horrid. I hated it with nothing more than 31's and a stock 302v8.
Crappy hydro clutch, and the trans itself is known for running itself dry, loosing fluid out of the shift tower.
