Has anyone made their own motor mounts for the 460 swap for a 73-79. If you have and had success, what are your measurements? or who has the best ones to buy?

I went to a junk yard and picked up a pair for $75.00 for my 460 swap into my 78 F150.

I've used the FE motor mounts, (390,360,352, ect) use the ones with 2 holes & a stud, the 2 holes have to be elongated a little bit & then the bolt onto the block at an angle, kind of hard to explain but they work pretty good, & are only about $12.00 apiece, lots cheaper than the L&L ones, & I've had less trouble with them,

Another option, I've gotten several sets of 429/460 mounts from Performance Unlimited. Price was less than L&L mounts last time I checked...

I used redrilled FE mounts, worked fine with the '79 400 perches once I fixed the previous hatchet job. Two holes fit, the third is way off. Made a template to fit the block, marked the mounts and drilled them.

Cost - About 7 bucks each. The Grade 8 hardware was more expensive.

When I was at West Coast Broncos I designed a 460 conversion motor mount that used a urethane bushing set like the small block Ford motor mounts WCB sells. They still have not put them into production but the last I heard they are close. This is the photo I took of the first articles:

You might give them a call to see if they're going to be putting these out any time soon. IMO its a superior design compared to the L&L units, and if I recall correctly the pricing was to be similar to the L&L's, if not a little cheaper. You can get WCB's number from www.wcb4x4.com. I'm no longer with WCB so this is not an official pimp post :flipoff2:

L&L was the shit back in the day when the 460 swap was not as common as it is now,
The oil pans are econoline units, the 7qt system is the same as the 92 & up 4wd trucks, so they are easy to get at the junk yard,

If swaping into an F-150 the car alternator bracket will work good, But won't fit the 77.5-79 F-250.
The powersteering bracket from a lincoln or LTD works real good & has a better pump.

I Just finished a swap into a 79 bronco & I used the serpentine set up from a 96 F-350, it worked pretty good,
