In the search lately for a new window frame (after I parked mine on it's side :( ) I am finding that the bottom hinge is spot welded to the top of the firewall. Mine however has a row of eight 1/4" bolts that attach the hinge for easy removal from the body.
Has any one else seen this? Did they change from spot-weld to bolts in certain years?

certain earlier years are removeable.. i think up to '68.. the rest are permanently on there.. so you'll have to go to http://www.broncograveyard.com or something.. ask on http://www.classicbroncos.com they can help FOR SURE

66-67 had removable window frames. Those two years also have door's that are different enough in the latch as to be a pain in the ass to upgrade. All the doors and windows from 68-77 are the same.
Only those two years will work. If your not picky about being able to remove them find some good ones or repair yours and weld them on. They will stay tighter against the weatherstripping too.

My rig is a '69 w/ removable windshield. I'm probably going to try and fix mine but I would like to obtain another one incase this happens again. What sucks about this whole thing, is I was originally going to stay home and pull the window off for the summer the weekend it happened. Spur of the moment trip changed that!

Slightly off topic:
'68 was a transition year for the Doors. Mine has the later style 'squeeze' handle for the inside door release. And yet it also has the removable door window frame. '69 was the first year for the door window frames to be welded to the body of the door.

Damn Mark, your right. Most are spot welded, if it's been replaced at some time they probably used bolts. Any year should fit.

I knew Albino Man was asking about a Windshield Frame, that's why I prefaced with 'OT'.
I just figured FearMe was being helpfull with Bronco knowledge.
