I got a thing in the mail from Grainger for 30% off...

Anyone use this yet or know how big the "exclusions" are ???

Good for every order until end of Nov... what good stuff do you guys get from Grainger?

I`m looking for acomplete Tap & Die set do they have that :confused:

Grainger had a huge expansion here about 10 years ago. They must have opened 15 branches in the greater chicago area, and we were doing a lot of business with them. We had nothing but problems with customer service and their phone people being totally useless. Rather than even call a branch 10 minutes away we will send a driver 45 minutes to McMasterCarr. Im sure they sell a tap set you are looking for, but even with 30 percent off I think you may find it cheaper somewhere else. If you have any question about a product don't waste your time asking on the phone.

Hey guys, remember Grainger is a dealer for us and can get anything in our lineup. So, a 30% Grainger coupon would be the same thing as a 30% Baileigh coupon......:grinpimp:

That's what I noticed last night pretty much!
Their regular prices are about 2x-3x more than anywhere else :shaking: probably similar to other industrial type stores where when you get an account you get xx% off instantly anyway...

Granger sucks. Hey come to our store, look in the book for your tool pay full retail, and we don't have it in stock so pay shipping too and wait for it.

We have been selling our Torchmate machines through Grainger for awhile now. You should try to capitalize on that. Don't know whether they would honor it, but WOW if they do!!!

Had to send them a copy of it in they were not aware of a 30% off one... waiting to here back.

Could be like some of their "clearance" items. You can add it to your cart, try to check out, but then it suddenly doesn't exist. :D

Like the $495 Dayton Mill-Drill, the <$600 Wilton belt sanders, the $129 Milwaukee portaband saws, etc... ;)

She said my 30% coupon is weird because the exclusions are not just written out (there are a lot apparently)... she said it's not by manufacture, it's for specific items, and classes of items. IE: All custom orders are NOT included. So it has to be a stocked item.

Torchmate - She could not find any of your products when searching by your name. If you can give me some of your part #s in the Grainger catalog I can relay them to her.

BAILEIGH - I didn't ask about your stuff since they said no special order, I`m assuming they do not stock your items and you drop-ship or it's custom order. Correct me here if I`m wrong.

Funny you say that Brad. People in here don't seem to want to be "pitched".

In fact I posted a link to some socket sets in here a while back and was immediately accused of a "blatant sales pitch and scamming the unknowing pbb member with junk".

Keep in mind the thread was a question about finding a socket set that didn't break like an HF. And the accusation was from the OP.

Now back to the purpose of this thread. I have american made tap and die sets that will come in way lower than any grainger set after their discount.

PM me if you want pricing and be careful of the brand names at grainger that say "westward" or "westwood". It is there own private labelled imports.

I don't mind posts like yours saying "we have this.... and people seem to like it, pm for a price" or stuff like that. I think its great the vendors like you chime in with stuff like that. I like when the vendors take what we talk about and come up with new products/add them to their site. However, what I can't stand, and I know I'm not the only person, is blatant and assinine posts like I quoted. How he thought it was a good idea to bring up a 2 year old thread that had to do with a coupon, is beyond my comprehension.
Years ago there was a company in GEN 4x4 section that every post asking anything remotely to do with what his service was, chimed in with crap like "buy from me" etc. He quickly shaped up and now is a great and well respected vendor.
