Any tips for breathing techniques on long MIG beads. I've been TIGing for years, and I guess I didn't notice, but I hold my breath when I do to steady my hands. Neve been an issue with TIG since I never end up with long beads - I end up repositioning and breathing. On the MIGing that I've been doing recently, it would be helpful to just keep running the bead, but I end up messing up my position when I breathe.

Breathing has never been an issue for me as long as I had a good stable "base" I was positioned on. I used to do long runs, up to 8 feet long, on duct pipe for cotton gins in a single weld. It was 14-16 ga. Obviously I had to breath and move my feet for such a long span. I would just be sure I had by left hand, Im right handed, resting on the piece and that my arms weren't pressed against my chest. The raising and lowering of my chest cavity would have been a challenge. As always a stable base is key. You will get it with practice.

Adding to this ^ I find that it helps to plan my moves before hand and to stay as comfortable as possible. Keep your breathing calm and steady don't hold it.
