Who makes a good aluminum crossover tool box? I have been needing to get one for my jap for some time. Just now got some extra cash.

Places sell them online?

I don't want some flimsy POS...

You mean over-the-rails? I, and several folks I know, have had toolboxes from United Welding Services and been pleased. They;re not that expensive either. More expensive but better boxes are Rawson-Koenig and Weatherguard.

I have a delta, and it is strong enough for how i use it. My only complaint is that it doesnet have a guard against the lock mechanisim, so when you have your junk against it, it will pop open. I know craftsman sells deltas also, and they have that protector, so it is something you may want to check into. Just kregans had a much better deal, so i got my delta from them. Also, i bought some clamp on tool box mounts from wal-mart, and they work DAMN GOOD, and real easy to mount, plus, no drilling any holes in the bed.. great $20 i spent.

If you're thinking aluminum diamond plate go compare the thickness of a Delta/Craftsman/other cheaper box to a Weatherguard or other high end box. That alone should sell you.

I bought an aluminum one 4 months ago for my tow rig- bottom fell out of it, they (Delta) won't give me a refund, just exchange it for any other tool box- and that's cause the store is willing to bend some on what brand i get. The floor is held by a 90 deg lip and 3/4 long tack welds every 12"- fatigued and cracked the welds.

What i consider a normal load, 3 axle shafts, front drive shaft, fluids and a few tools- Isn't that why they're called tool boxes??
