: RCrocs November 7th Race Results
mark99tj 11-08-2009, 05:43 PM Here are the race results:

Notes:
For the racers that completed the whole race, you should understand the results (standings).
For racers that did not finish, as we discussed at the drivers meeting, the time of your last crossing of the start finish (check point), determines your finishing position. For those that did not make it to check point 1 (finish first lap), you can not be placed. With the check points, no transponders or GPS tracking, we cannot credit progression within a lap.
If anyone has a better way of doing this, or wants to see a change next year, please contact me, Bruce, Kyle or Achmed and let us know. I will listen, Bruce and Kyle will ignore you and Achmed will say you are stupid.
Disclosure: Mistake number two was made by me yesterday. With the confusion of the restart, and the fact that 4 teams not making the restart, I inadvertantly deleted your team numbers and did not realize it until I was home, so there were originally 4 teams that are not on the spread sheet and I am sorry for that. Additionally, I misplaced my paper with team names, and all I put in the computer were team numbers. Once again, I am sorry for that. Hopefully I can get the names and get them to you. I know some of you, but I did not want to put in an incomplete list or spell names wrong.
And one last special note for you Zach: :flipoff2:
mark99tj 11-08-2009, 06:14 PM One more point: the bolded lap times are the fastest times for each lap. Lap 1 fast time is the fastest of the day.
wngrog 11-08-2009, 06:42 PM Can you hook us up with the names with the team numbers?
mark99tj 11-08-2009, 06:48 PM Yeah, we are working on that. It was an oversight for me not to type them down. Honestly, I did not do it at the start because of screen real estate (the lap top I use at the races is an old laptop with a small screen. I do that because of the dirt and mud and stuff. When I clean it up afterwards, I use my good, wide screen laptop)-- with the orginally planned 12 laps, it gets crazy in the middle of the race with lapped racers, so I was trying to keep things simple. I kept it too simple. Sorry.

broncolou 11-09-2009, 02:41 AM I had a FAWKING black cat run across the track in front of me on lap 7, we kidded about it a little but the rest of the lap went fine......... Lap 8 was a different story. We stalled/lost steering/brake pedal went to the floor/rolled the truck. luckily the troops came over the hill with a call. 2Dedge got there first to lend a hand:smokin: It was a great race. The course was not that hard but it was tough on rigs. The dumb shit that happens on a long race is amazing........looking at the times my 2 laps where I had issues doesn't appear to have affected my outcome. I mighta been able to get 3rd with a lot more "hustle' but the first issue we had was a broken swaybar and we added about 2 min or so per lap before our rollover. I was happy to finish.:D
imagineer 11-09-2009, 03:06 AM I had a FAWKING black cat run across the track in front of me on lap 7,
We saw that Cat too. It did have white feet, but we slowed down and laid on the horn till it got off the track. No goddamn way I was going to hit a black cat.
I wish there was some way to tell where you were on the track. We passed third place only a few miles before the finish. I think If I were running on some tires that had more than 1/4" of tread we could run harder. We out of shape over 60 mph quite a few times. It was pretty cool to see the top 3 with in 6 min of first place.

XTRMTOY 11-09-2009, 04:26 AM This was my first rock race and only the 3rd time out with my buggy. Taking 3rd place was awesome... although I would rather have kept my 2nd place :flipoff2:
We never saw the cat but having to drive over Charlie M on the last lap and smashing the driver side exhaust shut in the process cost us that second spot. Maybe the black cat is that "thump, thump" sound I heard under my rig?
Since we came down with the plan being to just finish race, placing in the top 3 was amazing.
Team 101 => Mat Noualy and Matt Tengnagel

It was Nice meeting you guys. Your raced hard. You must have passed me while I was getting fuel becasue I got past you on the first lap and never saw you again. Your exhaust problem sounds like like an excuse :flipoff2: I got by Charlie with out any problems. :grinpimp: I was on your ass laying on the the horn on for at least a half a mile before we drag raced up that straight away.

We had a great time at Rausch. This was the most fun I've had competing.
Get a louder horn next year :flipoff2:. Not that I'll get to hear it...:p
Did I mention we did three fuel stops, melted the bottom of both suspension seats, only had a stock 4.3 V6, cracked a front steering arm, etc... Yep! I can always come up with lots of excuses. Is that not part of racing?
I'll be back for a rematch with a few extra ponies, a fuel cell that holds more than a shooter of gas and a somewhat tuned suspension next year.
Thanks again for putting us back upright after the rollover in practice.
Mat
heavychevyII 11-09-2009, 07:44 AM I'm overloaded with excuses.
My senior Drill Instructor told us:
If! If! If grasshoppers had machine guns, birds wouldn't fawk with em! If ain't gonna happen! So shut your fawken pie hole and start pushen.
Then he'd thrash us intil our hearts nearly exploded.
It was a quick lesson in excuses I've never forgot.
Charlie was very concerned with the stump when we went by. Now I know why.
BillaVista 11-09-2009, 04:54 PM Matt...you must have been REALLY fast to take 3rd...I swear it took you half an hour to get over that stump!! :flipoff2:
Congratulations...you guys did awesome!
(Don't fawk with the Canucks, eh! Way to represent Brother!)
k5king 11-10-2009, 09:04 PM Achmed will say you are stupid.
 I'll at least listen intently and hang on their every word before saying it though.......
I like the v-6 remark, since everyone ALLLLmost got beat by one !
The 111 team actually led lap's 4,5 and 6 (?) till they blew a tire. they swapped it out, and were back to 4th on lap 7, then broke the driveshaft in the natural section on lap 8 just past the S/F line. they sat there deciding what to do then finally pulled the shaft, welded it back together, put it back in and still finished 5th !
Figure all their " good " lap's were under 20 minute's. you average that out overall and deduct the extra 45 minute's form their time and it's one hell of a finish for sure.........
I was trying to gauge how the LM vehicle's would fare in this type of race so i tried keeping up to speed on how they were doing with the top guy's each lap. Just happens that they WERE the top guy's most of them, with their 4.3l V-6 :flipoff2:
I wish more of them would come out and play. Interesting vehicle's for sure but damn they work good !

Dora (lynn's dog) has done that to me a bunch of times. I was sitting outside the office with her sitting next to me and she took a big chomp out of may samich. :mad3:
Pretty sure she snatched a bunch of wings at the last RCrocs crawling event too.
