Any east coast f toys plan on attending these events?
Carolina Crawlin 11/14
Gulches Rock Race 11/21
(doublecheck me on the dates
If I get the new Trail Gear springs dialed in and my rear axle stops bending I would like to run both of them.
On another note
Is everyone else bending a lot of rear axles? Took almost 2 years to bend the first one and now I have bent 2 more in 6 months.

Yes bent several stock housings. Never bent a TG housing though. I don't think anyone has bent a Diamond either.

Are you trussing them Wes? I did the Wing style truss across the back of mine and its been rock solid. Mine is the narrow style as well which is known to be weaker. Dad bent his IFS rear axle pretty easily without a truss.

I bent the rock assault at Dayton this year, But Trail Gear was way cool and took care of it for me.

No truss on the axle.
Bending is occurring between the perch and the axle flange. That area will be hard to truss. If I can find another housing I am going to truss that area.
Note:
The axle is bending up and forward between the spring perch and axle flange.

Here is how I did mine.

Not a problem after 2 years.. Dad straightened his axle pretty easily. Might be able to salvage them.

Looks kind of heavy and intrusive. Definetly beefy and solid.
But, it seems like it could hang you up at times. I was thinking the same thing or across the top with 2x6" wide rectangle tubing. Just trim it up to fit the contours.

How are you going to go across the leafs if you do it on top?
FWIW the rear wing style has never hung me up on anything.
Hobbies original rear housing had the same style of truss before they put in the TG axle housing.

Really thinking more of 2 large 1/4 thick plates to replace my shock mounts and reinforce the area between the spring perch and flange.
not going to put much effort into the stock axle. I Really want a trail gear axle housing.
