I want to pin several steel USGI magazines to 5 rounds for hunting and I am finding nothing on google. What does the OSR say about this?

Why not just buy a 5 round magazine?

I took some usgi standard cap mags and chopped them in <half and recreated the floorplate mating area then reinstalled the floorplate. Had to chop the spring down too but now I have orange/green follower 10 rounders- if you dont chop the spring you may get 5 round cap.

I just stick a wood block in the things so they will only take 5 rounds. Same idea as the wood dowl plugs that come in all auto and pump hunting shotguns.

I was reading through TN hunting regs trying to find a 5 shot limit, but didn't see one... What state are you in that requires a 5 shot max?

I don't think we have a limit here. I **think** you can pack around a 30 round mag if you want. Seems that pistols are not allowed in some senarios.

Most western states have a 5 round limit for hunting game, 3 rounds for shotgun waterfoul/upland. Varmint's are the exception including coyotes but not wolves.

I live in MI. I personally dont care about the mag cap law, but my little sis is using one of my ar-15's for hunting. I was going to use a rod tigged to the floor plate but ended up using pop rivets.

Scoop an ankle, lift it up, block the other foot and drop him with your shoulder. Then, quickly get hand control, put him in a half, roll him over and pin him.
