: Towing question for Iowa people

Hey this sat I have to go pick a truck up in IA.... What are the laws there as for straps & stuff...

Ill be pulling with a U-Haul & have a 73 Bronco on the trailer...Going to Cedar Rapids

I couldnt tell you the LAW, but based on my experience in this state I would just advise to just use some common sense. I have been towing in this state for almost 20 years- seems like the cops here will overlook a lot. About the only thing I can recall is that they really dont take too well to a dead vehicle being towed down the road on a chain. Of course, I live and do most of my in state towing stuff in the southern half of the state, so things could be different further north.

I drive thru council bluffs iowa all the time with a ratty unregistered bald tired pick up box trailer and havent had any issues.

Its full of scrap metal over the top and Ive passed cops at least 3 times.
