: cam help

Friend walked into my shop holding a new sbc cam said his old man bought it years ago and lost all the info tried last night searching with no luck so before it gets set on the shelf for every was wondering if you guys may be able to help the only makings I found on the cam were these numbers 965511

if you get a degree wheel you can install it in a block and roll it around and pick up all the info too.

you can also use a mic to figure out the lifts.

measure the lobe and the base then subtract them.
peak is 1.500"
base width is 1.250"
= lift of .250"
lift x rocker ratio [1.5:1]
.250" x 1.5 = overall advertized lift of .375"

besure to do both the intake and exaust because more often than not they dont match.

does it have a manufacturers name on the end, like comp cams or anything? If it does then it should have a some numbers on it that can be hard to see. If so you can go on thier site and type those in and it will give you all the specs

Thanks trkklr77 I knew there had to be a way of figuring it out I just didn t know. I need to get a wheel.

93chevy4x4 did that on several different sites those numbers are the only thing i can make out there is a partial stamp on the same end as the numbers but nothing i can make out.
