Beginning a build on a YJ. Linked front/XJ leafed rear. Was curious as to if there is a coil spring that is widely used because of its ride quality and/or spring rate underlined with the budget build in mind. Could be barkin' up the wrong tree but help or info is appreciated. (don't have the budget for coilovers at this point. So to progress the build thought I'de investigate just coils.

Your gonna need to provide a little more info.

How many inches over stock height are you tryin' to get?

Is the rear stock XJs SOA?

What engine/tranny do you have? (too figure weight)

i run stock XJ front coils mounted under my frame, net me about 4-5" of lift. stock front TJ's will get you about 3-4''. i run them, b/c well, they are cheap and are the right spring rate for a tj. the xj are a little firmer, but still ride like a cadillac compared to leaves.

right now it is an soa shackle reversal stock yj leafs. Rear is a 4-link with double shackles. Way to tall. My intentions are to 3-Link the front while shoveing it forward about 2" and SOA xj leaf the rear (back 5") w/ frenching and shackles. So my front buckets and rear pearchs are going to be located relative to the springs that I get for the front. Ultimatly dropping it 5" would be prime. I thought that a soft ride front spring that had a rating between 190-210 and a measuring for 5.5" past stock would work and be budget minded at the same time. But I thought I'de ask before I pulled the trigger. Drive line is a 350tbi/700r4/Atlas 2spd Ford D60 KingPin full width in front/ 14BFF Rear/ 40" MTR's around H2's.

i have stock zj front coils under my frame netting me 5 inces of lift and good ride quality. i also double triangulated the rear and run stock front xj coils there.
