I have a 04 Rubicon that I just bought a RE 5.5 long arm kit for and 315/75/16 tires (35"). I was wondering if I can mount the tires on my stock rims without rubbing? Is there enough backspacing? Thanks, I haven't been able to find this answer.

If they are 8 inch wheels You may have to adjust your turn stops. Other than that I do not see a problem.

I believe the backspacing on Moab wheels is 5.5". This is too much backspacing for a 12.50 width tire. You'll need a maximum of 4.5" of backspacing. Most people run 4". You can get a set of 1.5" Spydertrax wheel spacers and you'll be good to go.

Your tires are gonna be about 1/2" from your frame rails, any uptravel even from small bumps will be wearing down paint and rubber. Sell the rims and get some black rockcrawlers/steelies

Will I be fine with a 4.5" backspacing or will need to go with a 4" backspacing.

I'm pretty sure I already gave you that answer. If you like the look of the Moabs, I'd keep them and just get some wheel spacers.
