I know your not 'supposed to', but I was told and am in a bit of a bind that I can use radiator hose for the filler hose on my blazer.

The guy at napa said that he doesn't carry the 1.5" gas line stuff and that radiator hose will last like 10 years if I just use it for the filler neck.

Is any of that true or will it just wreck shop if I use it for the filler neck hose?

It's for a '75 blazer if there is a part number or something for the right thing, but I really wanted to get my blazer running tomorrow.

BTW its a new engine so I don't have a desire to ruin it. I searched and I can't find anything on here or on google. Flame me with links.

I might do it to get truck running, but would not leave it there.

the hoses are different for a reason.

I'm pretty sure prolonged exposure to gas will swell a rad hose, and eventually cause it to decompose. How long has the 'guy' at NAPA worked in the parts buisiness? I've had kids at these places tell me all kinds of shit, that I know is incorrect. Hit the junk yards. If you have a exhaust place close with a bender, have them make a metal filler pipe, and just use rubber at the tank and fill inlet. You can find the correct size rubber on a more common vehicle, to use for your connections.

Short term,no problem,after a while rad.hose will swell-seperate.

I went to Orielly's eary this morning and found what they claimed to be fuel hose @~9$/ft. I assume that it is the right stuff based on the price. Is there a good way to tell?

I don't want to delete this thread cause I couldn't find another one addressing this problem.

You can also check boat shops for fuel hose. They have more selection in different sizes.

Good luck, and DO NOT USE RADIATOR HOSE.
