: CJ type caliper bracket on IH

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know I've drifted over to the Jeep site, but that's where the action is (at least for my question).

I'm going to convert my IH T'all from drums to discs. Here's the logic. IIRC, Scout II and comparable year CJs w/discs used quite similar parts, like the calipers, hubs and discs were the same. IH spindles were 8 stud, but Jeep used 6 stud.....I have acquired some D30 6 stud spindles, and have the following two questions:

The "clocking" for my IH six stud knuckle is that the two upper studs are clocked in the 10 and 2 o'clock positions (GM used six studs, but one stud was clocked at NOON, which means I'd be off 30 degrees). On the CJ application, the caliper bracket should be identical except for the different number of studs. Anyone know how those are clocked? If so, I can try to score some CJ brackets, and move on to the next problem.

Except for u-joint size, are the D30 and D44 front axles (the outer stub shaft), the same? Again, score some outer stub shafts and viola! Discs!

Unless I've overlooked something.....lube it all with relative bearing grease, and I'm in business.

Oh, and the obligatory

Flame me back. Yawn.....
