: The PBB 92 YJ Creation!
bigjeepinYJ 09-26-2002, 02:42 PM Well I thought that I would go ahead and post the heep on here and let you bastards see what you did to it. The first pic is what it looked like when I bought it. Then the photo that cascade down show the destruction.

Special thanks to: Jess at High Angle Driveline, Scott at Rockstomper, Matt at West Texas Offroad, TPIJEEP, H8Monday. and all the guys of the PBB. This project has taken way too much time and money, oh well!
The pic below is what we started with!
bigjeepinYJ 09-26-2002, 02:44 PM Pic2
bigjeepinYJ 09-26-2002, 02:47 PM Here is the front shaft. We had some clearance issues with the front shaft fitting next to the TH350 so Jess made us a tight clearance shaft.
bigjeepinYJ 09-26-2002, 02:49 PM Bye, Bye 20 hello ONE TON!
bigjeepinYJ 09-26-2002, 02:51 PM Flat Fendered:D
bigjeepinYJ 09-26-2002, 02:56 PM Sort of a bad pic but this is the skid plate that we made for the tranny it is about 2 inches deep. We have no body lift. The 44044 almost give you too much lift the way it is!
bigjeepinYJ 09-26-2002, 03:04 PM Here is Jess's Driveline brake and his 1350 shaft mounted to our 14 bolt
bigjeepinYJ 09-26-2002, 03:09 PM Here is a little flex with the 44044 sorry about the pic got a little wet and stuck to another one.....

So you're including H8 in that list because of the color? :flipoff2:
looks....well, it functions good!
Nice. Did you narrow the axles? What is your overall width? Do you have a rear traction bar (tough to tell from the pics)? Any rubbing at all? What is your wheelbase? Do you think its too tall? Any gas tank clearance issues?
My CJ7 is very similar but w/ front 60, stock 7 leaf waggy springs, Hummer wheels, and a jeep drive train.
bigjeepinYJ 09-26-2002, 04:19 PM No i did not narrow the axles the front is a Waggy 44 front and a Cab and Chassis 14 Bolt rear. Yes I do have a rear traction bar from Sam's Offroad. I have no rubbing at all anywhere. As far as too tall, it is as tall as I want it. I have a fuel cell, I took out the stock fuel tank. Yes there would have been major issues with the gas tank. I will give you exact measurements on width and length later tonight. Also I added the 8 lug up front from a chevy heavy 44 got it for 100 bucks and swapped everything out. When you change the front to eight it brings it out a little to match up with the rear. The Waggy springs in my opinion are awsome! Well i will get those lengths.

That's funny, I didn't have any :flipoff2:
It looks great!!!! Don't worry about the 44044s. Give them 2-3 hard wheeling trips and they sit down about 1" all around. Ends up being perfect. If I come up that way in the winter (Christmas time) you and I need to hit up Attica.
High5 09-26-2002, 05:36 PM do your shackles give any lift or are they stock? just curious. i have a set of 44044's in the mail that i will be using for my fj40/buggy project. i ordered the lift springs over the stock waggys because of how i plan to mount my springs but i am still alittle worried that i'll be taller than i want. i am shooting to keep this rig low as possible even though i run 42's. i guess if htye are too tall i can sell them and order a set of stock waggys.
btw the rig does look sweet. just alittle on the tall side but maybe the springs will settle some lke bigdude said. oh well atleast you have a good reason to go wheeling!:D
bigjeepinYJ 09-26-2002, 05:37 PM Ok well you are probably right with the gas tank i just took it out it made for a lot more room for my traction bar and my flowmaster exhaust. Yea give me a yell sometime we can hook up at Attica!:flipoff2:
EDIT: Hopefully I will have the TPI worked out by then..... Ill keep TPIJEEP busy, no that I havent already!

I think you will be fine with the 42's and i made some new shackles, they are a little taller than stock because the stock shackles put them in a bind. I just ordered the Rancho 44044, I think they are about the same as a 2.5 lift spring.
Blue92YJ 09-26-2002, 06:09 PM Looks damn good man. I have been watching your buildup over the past 6 months, since we have the same stomping grounds, and I took a few notes while I was at it :D I will be wrapping up a 3/4 ton axle swap on my '92 YJ here in the next few weeks. I plan on using "backwaters" as testing grounds before I become a regular at Attica. If you are ever heading out, we are always looking for guys (w/ capable shit) to run with. Also, dont know what you have for a cage so far, but I've got a JD2 model 3 bender that you are more than welcome to use.
Specs so far on my Jeep are. Stock 4.0, '78 F-250 D44 and D60 axles, Lincoln locked in the rear, looking for a Detroit for up front, JC whitney waggies spring over, high steer/crossover, relocated gas tank (like H8), tube fenders (like H8), custom roll cage in the works. Not real sure which tires I'll run yet, but I am really leaning towards 37x13x16.5 Boggers.
There are a few nice "rigs" starting to pop up around here. A bad ass TJ w/ long arms, who supposedly lurks POR, and my buddy has a Toy with a chevy 350, custom D60's, 4.56's, Detroits, tube bed...
If you are ever heading out to "backwaters" aka "brownie mountain" aka "combs road" or "Rock Hill" or Attica for that matter....shoot me a pm.
bigjeepinYJ 09-26-2002, 06:21 PM Hello,
We will defenitly hook up to go to the backwaters it is only 30 minutes from the house. I dont know how fast you will be ready but we are having a Poker Run down in my town (Brownstown) I think the second weekend in October, it is always a fun time and we usually head out to the mountain after that. I would definetly like to hook up with the bender. I have a full cage right know but am wanting to build on it. Thanks and keep in touch.

ChadLloyd 09-27-2002, 06:21 AM Just for reference:
I just finished putting 5 leaf JC Whitney springs into my YJ.
my 14 bolt does hit the tank. At first it was loud, after about 15 minutes it more or less went away :) Now it only does it when I really bottom out both sides going down a fireroad or something.
Seriously, my springs are pretty close to flat, and it is not a problem on the trail rock crawling (unless you're jumping the damn thing), it 'self clearances' relatively well and quickly. I plan this winter on taking the skid off and modifying it a little more to make it correct, shouldn't take much, and with a platic tank it should conform to a slight indentation there without too much problem.
With the 44044s, I suspect with the lift you would not have a problem at all.
In my particular case the bigger problems are pitman arm clearance with the front cover of my front diff, and very very slight interference between the drag link and frame on full stuff with my cross over steering, both problems which also probably would not show up with more lift.
In my case I DID need to have longer shackles.
Just my experience, if it helps.
Jakesteramalamajama 09-27-2002, 06:32 AM Swweeeeeet.

I can't believe you guys have left this one alone.
Why were you using the pic I just go out to the garage and look at my Jeeps while I whack it. Much less cleanup.
